Until very recently, I've adamantly supported the suit filed by Phillip Berg questioning Barack Obama's qualification as President of the United State based on the issue of national born citizenship. In a nutshell, Mr. Berg asserts that there are two possible scenarios in which Mr. Obama is not a natural born citizen. First, Berg believes Anne Dunham gave birth to Obama in Mombasa, Kenya rather than Honolulu, Hawaii as reported. In my opinion, this argument carries little weight because his mother was still a United States citizen, and there exists a certificate of live birth listing Obama's birthplace as Honolulu. Secondly, Berg states that Obama forfeited his American citizenship when the family moved to Indonesia in 1967. This argument holds more water because if Obama lost his U.S. citizenship then returned to the country and regained it, he would be a naturalized citizen, not a natural born citizen and therefore ineligible to be President. Mr. Berg has a strong, credible argument that should be settled by our court system but he also apparently lacks standing in his ability to file.
Even if Phillip Berg can prove standing in the Berg vs. Obama case before the supreme court, I feel that it may be in the nation's best interest for the case to still be dismissed. If Barack Obama's popularity became tainted with his disqualification to hold the nation's highest office, unchecked civil unrest would be released. I'm certain that we would see major bouts of rioting and a move toward anarchy, which could possibly lead to civil war. It may prove to be safer to allow Obama to serve his presidency and let him be judged on his own merit. Constitutionally, we may now have the nation's greatest test of it's system of checks and balances.If Obama wisely governs from the center, allowing for the people's best interest, he may succeed and actually make a difference. If he leans too far left, he will alienate a large segment of society and we will probably see a re-run of 1994 when the Republicans made huge advances in the House and Senate and assumed control for the first time in over 40 years.
Mr. Berg, your case provides adequate proof and holds merit. You speak of an unavoidable constitutional crisis if the case cannot be settled expeditiously, yet I feel that the potential for crisis may be greater if Obama is disqualified. Perhaps, it's better to allow our political system the time to return balance. Sometimes it's best to just let sleeping dogs lie.

Yours is a valid discussion, one I have pondered as well. Would wide spread civil unrest be the result of finally getting to the bottom of several unknowns with BHO? But one must go further in musing the consequences of the results, if they be negative. Would we be able to demonstrate who is truly at fault, and can those who were so blindly led into the fallacy "see the light?"
While I do agree the consequences of the truth being revealed may be extreme, at this point, I also do not believe that should scare us from finding it out. I would rather, as you have pointed out, let him govern, hopefully from the center, and let this administration run it's course. But, then again, how do we prevent these types of collusive efforts by our governement in the future if they not be fleshed out here and now?
That reasoning is so bogus. If we don't have the moral fiber to get to the truth and to ensure our governing laws, especially the Constitution is adhered to, we are lost as a nation. If some morons want to 'riot', we'll deal with it. To avoid the truth because of fear is not what this great nation was built upon.
Excuse my bluntness since I am so dissertationed completely out at this point and totally frustrated that so many are giving up to the fight so easily and for all thae wrong reasons. Political correctness is why we're at this stage in the first _ place.
So basically what you're saying is we should let the tail wag the dog since the tail is so popular.
With that line of thinking, OUR CONSTITUTION would need to be removed from the National Archives and redistributed in the Charmin's section in Wal Mart.
I feel that the national media and government authorities are doing the entire country a disservice by withholding the reporting that there is a problem. If the country were allowed to muttle and vent over a period of time we would avoid the "shock" values all at once.
Of course, you say, the rational-thinking people are less likely to violently riot to get what they want. So you're looking to encourage those who violently riot to just take the country and do with it what the will. I say - It was rational-thinking people who establish this COUNTRY and it's CONSTITUTION of FREEDOM from the beginning and it was never meant to be given up to violent rioters. You will have several million people who will never be satisfied that the CONSTITUTION was served if this sham is allowed to proceed. I personally take the stance that the country I've served, been overwhelmingly proud of, taught those around me the history and have deeply loved and respected all my life, has been severely snookered. I have studied this situation since it first arose and it's sparkling clear to me as to what the truth is but I'm being sucked down with the drain water and I'm left with a baffling crusade to convince those who are unaware of the facts that "The Emperor Has No Clothes!" and no papers either. I don't recognize this as the same country by far and it's so very sad.
The folks at fault, should there be any rioting would be those who withheld the facts that there were problems and that this man had a tainted background in the first place.
You reap what you sew. You pay for lies! Withholding a truth is THE SAME as telling a lie. Where are the VALUES in all this. The CONSTITUTION stands for VALUES and MUST be followed to the letter if this, OUR COUNTRY is to survive.
If ALL is so above board then why is so much in hiding and so many records of this man's past sealed. He is now in the process of filling out the form that all President Elects fill out to determine that there are no embarrassing skeletons in any unopened closets that might reflect negatively on the US and the Presidency. That would have to be EXTREMELY INTERESTING! at best. Stay tuned. Stay the GROUND!

I've often considered the outcome if the courts decide -- at ANY POINT -- that We the People have a STANDING -- and actually do their job -- PROTECT OUR CONSTITUTION.
I think the resulting outcome of allowing a naturalized -- or even a Nicaraguan, Roger Calera, with a green card, running on a communist party ballot, to become a President would set precedence & Article II would become null & void. That would be far worse. And, that is what is being allowed to occur.
There has been no vetting of the candidates -- PRIOR TO ACCEPTING THEIR APPLICATIONS -- to be placed on the 50 states ballots.
HOW COULD A questionable KENYAN & A known NICARAGUAN make it that far????
Are we getting so complacent, fat, drunk, stoned or busy that we just take it ALL for granted???? Obviously!
