Haiti Devastated by Multiple Hurricanes

South Florida once more successfully escaped the onslaught of a string of hurricanes although others have not been so fortunate, especially in countries with less ability to prepare such as Haiti. Please read the following excerpt from a letter written to a pastor in Cape Coral, Florida from a fellow pastor in Haiti, with no edits.

"We just have 3 hurricanes: "Fay, Gustave and Ana" it cause much domages, flooding, devastation in the mountain, it hurt the mountain people very bad in these areas like: Foret des Pins, Santo Desert, Fonds Verettes, Savane Zombie, Jacmel, Gonaives, etc... You, bro. George and the other brother that came with you for the dedication of the well have been in these places except Savane Zombie and Jacmel. A lot of the people lost their homes, gardens, animals, some of the churches get domages and a lot of them lost their roofs. We have people get killed but we don't have to many, we have many victims families survived from the hurricanes and the needs are great. We are praying and beleive God for restoration, we know God is able to supply all the needs according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus. Please I want you to pray and beleive God together with us because with God nothing is impossible."

The people of this tiny impoverished island nation have no ability to protect themselves from these ravages of nature and no way to replenish their supplies of food. In America after a storm, we complain of having no electricity to supply us with air conditioning but In Haiti, there is no electricity even during fair weather. These people contend with not having the basic necessities to sustain life such as water, food and uncontaminated living conditions. Some have resorted to eating mud in an attempt to survive. Please have compassion on these unfortunate people, and if you may find it in your heart to do so, please contribute to help their need. Donations may be sent to Christian Life Fellowship at 1200 SW 20th Ave., Cape Coral, FL 33991.
